Our Love Story

Branden & Shominique both attended Scott high school in Toledo Ohio. While Shominique was a varsity cheerleader, Branden played varsity football. Crossing paths often with just simple “heys”Branden never wanted to approach Shominique. He told his best friend “Ima get her, watch bro”

Four years later in 2014, while working for Jeep manufacturing, Branden decided to start conversations with Shominique. They laughed and had amazing conversations everyday!

After finally exchanging numbers, they started going to get lunch together every single day while at work. They were instantly falling for each other. Their first outing together was bowling with co-workers. Hanging out, and dating casually for a little over a year, Branden texted Shominique and asked her “are you my girlfriend?” Shominique told him “NO, that’s something you need to ask me in person.”

Shocked, Branden hurried along and planned a romantic weekend. He brought her nice gifts, planned dinner and took her out. He asked her again and She GLADLY accepted. They have been inseparable ever since!

On Father’s Day in 2022, Branden just arrived back in town from Phoenix, Arizona from his cousins Bachelor trip. He rallied all of their family and close friends together and surprised Shominique asking for her hand in marriage.

“We cannot wait to celebrate our union with you all on October 12, 2024. All of our Love

XoXo Shominique & Branden”

The Heights

"Modern and hip, The Heights in The Renaissance Hotel is Toledo's only rooftop bar, and it is impressive. The panoramic views of the Maumee River and urban landscape are spectacular, whether you are seated indoors or on the expansive patio. The sleek, industrial-esque décor is upscale, inviting and comfortable. The extensive menu of specialty cocktails, craft beers and award-winning wines are perfectly synched with an inventive selection of small plates and wood-fired flatbread pizzas, all with Instagram-able presentations. In the light of day, the mood is bright and cheerful; at night, on a backdrop of city lights, The Heights becomes intimate and romantic, energized, and festive. The combination of consistently high-quality food, beverages and service, happy hour specials and private and semi-private rental options make this a destination for hotel guests and office workers throughout the downtown, residents from the greater Toledo area and the city's movers and shakers. The Heights is more than an American bar and restaurant, it's an experience."

Rosie’s Italian Grille

"Rosie’s Italian Grille’s story begins in a very humble place – beloved Rosie Barone’s modest kitchen. It was here that so many of Rosie’s Italian Grille’s famous recipes were perfected and brought to life. With a pinch of this and a dash of that, Rosie’s recipes created a family culture surrounded around authentic Italian cuisine. Now in its third decade of producing authentic and delicious Italian cuisine. Flashback to 1982, brothers Phillip, John, and Mike opened a humble deli, with an adjoining arcade, in a building on Sylvania Avenue. The restaurant quickly became a Toledo staple and grew in popularity. In the blink of an eye, the deli closed to focus on bigger and better adventures and five Rosie’s pizzerias opened in its place. The brothers’ goals were simple: to provide Toledoans with authentic Italian cuisine that paid homage to their dear mother’s recipes."
